Have you always wanted to play a musical instrument? Do you wish you could express yourself creatively through music? Do you wish you could impress your friends by being able to play your favorite songs? Would you like to be able to audition for a band or even put your own band together with your friends? Do you currently gig with your friends or have hopes to in the future, but need some new ideas? Do you already play an instrument but wish you knew how to write original songs? Do you want to learn to create original arrangements of popular songs for a group you play with? Do you wish you could improvise?
Perhaps you already play an instrument, but are feeling uninspired. One of the biggest problems faced by young musicians is a lack of inspiration, direction, and motivation. One of the greatest tools a musician can have is an inspiring and knowledgeable teacher. A good teacher provides direction, support, guidance, and can open a student’s eyes to new creative paths.
One of the most commonly held misconceptions about music is that musical talent is innate. This simply is NOT true. EVERY great musician throughout history has reached their goals with lots of hard work and the help of trained musicians and educators. It is only through the guidance and support of fellow musicians and teachers, as well as practice, that these musicians reached the creative heights they did.
Taking private music lessons with a knowledgable teacher is the best way to learn to play an instrument. For young students already taking lessons in school, private music lessons can provide another source of information and guidance in a one-on-one setting. For adult students, private lessons can provide some much needed guidance and feedback as you learn your instrument.
Contact me to schedule your first music lesson and we will build a plan to help you become the musician you’ve always wanted to be.
